Active Login Manager Express is a Single Sign On solution for Cisco VoIP Telephony implementations which use the Cisco Communications Manager Express (CME). ALM removes the need to manually log on and log off from your Cisco IP Phone. This process is fully automated by ALM. Additionally ALM adds more control to the log on and log off process, so it improves usability of your Cisco IP Phone Extension Mobility. ALM will simultaneously log off the connected phone at selected events, e.g. when the PC is locked or when the screensavers starts. The user or its administrator has the option to customize the ALM behaviour.
Client
Graphyte is a UK-based SaaS company selling services to large gambling and betting operators for integration with websites and mobile apps to offer personalized content to their users. Their product, Graphyte Recommend, uses AI to provide ultra-personalized recommendations to punters, the same way Netflix provides entertainment recommendations to its viewers.
Problem
Graphyte was a small start-up in October 2018 when they came to Symphony Solutions. They needed help in solving technical problems with POC, mostly related to scale and database performance, issues such as:
- A bottleneck in the system created by relational database,
- Unnecessary latency,
- Lack of resources for system maintenance, and other issues.

The Inventory Manager regularly scans your Cisco switches and dynamically builds a ‘map’ of the IP network and the connected devices (e.g. phones, computers, laptops, printers). The inventory provides a sound baseline for customer-specific network management applications. The Inventory Manager is a server-based application which periodically can scan up to 10.000 different Cisco switches in a network.
An example is the use of the Inventory Manager in certain customer-specific deployment scenarios of our ALM Single Sign-On application. In order to create a mapping between Cisco IP phones in the network and attached computers, laptops or thin clients, the Inventory Manager periodically scans the network and creates the mapping. This mapping ensures that each time someone starts his or her laptop, the right IP phone in the network is associated to that user.
